WESTLANDS MP COMMISSIONS KIHUMBUINI COMPUTER LAB

A computer laboratory at Kihumbuini Primary School in Kangemi, allowing pupils access to computers and the internet, has been officially launched today.

Funded by the Westlands MP HON TIM WANYONYI, the computers are intended to serve more than the 1,300 pupils at the school.

This launch is part of the legislator's #WestlandsICTLabsProject that aims to ensure that all educational institutions in Westlands Constituency are equipped with a computer lab.

The MP has so far provided thirteen schools with 40 computers, a server, furniture for the lab as well as inter-connectivity for the computers. A classroom in each of the 13 public primary schools has been converted into a lab that has been refurbished.

Some of the objectives for this computer lab launch include making learners aware of the vast opportunities in Information and Communications Technologies, encouraging computer literacy among learners and promoting research skills among learners while they are still young.

Hon Wanyonyi will tomorrow unveil the 14th and 15th Computer Labs at Farasi Lane Primary at 10am and Kabete Rehab School at 12pm respectively.
