SUCCESSFUL DEEP SEA MEDICAL CAMP

Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi on Madaraka Day June 1st, 2016  facilitated a successful medical-camp at Deep Sea Slum in Highridge/Parklands Ward within Westlands Constituency.

A total 525 patients underwent successful pain management screening and treatment by professional doctors.

Kangemi Primary School pupils studying in one of the refurbished classrooms courtesy of Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi. Kangemi Primary School was established in 1927. It is the only public primary school in the expansive Mountain View Ward. The school has a current enrollment of 1,846 pupils and 30 teachers. The school bore the brunt of a ballooning population of its catchment comprising of Gichagi, Rift Valley, Village Inn and St Joseph informal settlement areas.  The free primary education programme introduced in January 2003 positively contributed to an increased enrollment of pupils at the school .The high enrollment with the limited physical facilities at the school resulted in congested classrooms. The defunct city council failure to allocate resources to the school further  contributed to the sorry state of affairs with the school infrastructure being overstretched. WESTLANDS MP HANDS OVER NEWLY REFURBISHED LORESHO PRIMARY SCHOOL

Newly refurbished Loresho Primary School classroom block By Tim Sande, WESTLANDS,Kenya,April 5 - Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi this morning officially handed over a newly refurbished Loresho Primary School.  The refurbishment of the school involved the installation of tiles on the floors, setting up of new ceilings, replacement of wooden doors with metallic ones, repairing of leaking roofs, painting of blackboards, repairing of notice boards, recarpeting of the parking with Ca rbro as well as painting of all the 13 classrooms,staffroom, computer room and administration block. Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi today joined hands with students, teachers, parents and the community at Parklands Arya Girls High School for a harambee towards the construction of a dormitory for the girls that realised KES 17 Million. Architectural model of the new dormitory at Parklands Arya Girls High School to cost KES 50 Million and with a capacity of 1,200 students and 4 staff housing units During the event, the Westlands MP committed to give a supporting hand to the school to accommodate its increased enrollment through building the necessary infrastructure.
