WESTLANDS MP TIM WANYONYI TOGETHER WITH KEN OKOTH GRACE KIBRA EDUCATION DAY

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi and Kibra MP Ken Okoth  today attended the Kibra Education Day at Kibra Primary School.

The Kibra Education day seeks to fete the best schools in Kibra in education and  co-curriculum such as drama, music and sports.

Kibra MP Ken Okoth stated the great stride they have made in ensuring maximum transition from primary to secondary by setting up five new secondary schools. He thanked various stakeholders for making it possible.

"Elimu Kwanza was to advocate for maximum transition from class 8 to form one. Five of our public primary schools have a day secondary school.Kibera Secondary has 250 students, Olympic Secondary has 856 students,Shadrack Kimalel secondary 412 students, Mbagathi Secondary has 410 students,Raila Educational Centre has 448 students. We are aiming to ensure no student is left behind as per the millenium development goal number four..We are heavily investing in education.In the next 60 days we will hand over the new Kibra Secondary School classroom block," Hon Okoth said.

Westlands lawmaker called upon the national government to support in the establishment of new secondary schools while reiterating the importance of investing in education.

"The only way to change and liberate our people is through education. The only way we can close the doors of prison is through education. Hon Ken Okoth has shown the transformation power of CDF. Nobody has gone wrong by investing in education.As we look to improve education outcomes we have to increase the  infrastructure and teachers in our schools," Hon Wanyonyi emphasized.

Olympic Primary School and CITAM school were rewarded for being the best public primary and best private primary schools in academics respectively.

Moi Girls, Raila Education centre and New Horizon Secondary Schools were feted for being the best extra county, best public day and best privated day secondary schools respectively.

Ayany Primary (boys) and Grace Humanitas (girls) emerged as the best schools in primary soccer. Meanwhile Olympic High School won the secondary schools soccer boys and girls competition.

The two MPs are passionate about improving education outcomes at all levels.
