NELSON MANDELA DAY CELEBRATED AT CHELETA

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi joined the South African High Commission in the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the International Nelson Mandela Day at Cheleta Primary School,Westlands on Thursday, July 18.

The day whose aim is to serve the needy and honour Mandela's legacy by giving 67 minutes of 18th July to do good had this year's theme as "Action against poverty" with sub themes "Take Action. Inspire Change."

Hon Wanyonyi played host to South Africa High Commision Charge d'affaires Thembela Ngculu and UN Environment regional representative Dr Julieet Biao Kuoudenoukpo.


The day was inaugurated on July 18, 2009 coinciding with Nelson Mandela's birthday through a majority decision by the UN General Assembly.
