CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN GOVERNMENT ABETTING A CULTURE OF CORRUPTION-TIM WANYONYI

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has today singled out corruption and lack of God fearing leaders among key issues ailing the country.
Speaking in Migori during a fundraising event to raise funds for the expansion of St Celestino Catholic Parish Oruba,Suna West Constituency, Hon Tim Wanyonyi said that a policy should be enacted to curb the impunity of public and state officers doing business with government.
"The people who are stealing from our country is because of our poor government policies. Government officers openly doing business with government departments are abetting corruption.We should reform our policies to ensure that all state and public officers do not engage in business with the same government," Hon Wanyonyi said.

He encouraged Christians to sacrifice their resources to build and expand churches. He also cautioned Kenyans against people who have stolen public resources and want to use the same funds to buy off leadership positions.
The Westlands lawmaker commended the Building Bridges Initiative by Rt Hon Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta citing the stability it has brought. He also called for protection of devolved units by urging treasury to disburse funds in good time to the units.
"We are supporting the handshake. I have seen teams named Tangatanga, Kieleweke and Team Wanjiku, none of whom are genuine.They are diverting attention from pertinent issues. We have to stabilize, heal and unite our country," Hon Wanyonyi added.
The second term MP who is a member of the Kenya catholic MPs was the chief guest during the fundraiser also attended by ODM SG Edwin Sifuna, Suna West MP Peter Masara, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita, Rongo MP Paul Abuor, Rangwe MP Dr Lilian Gogo and Busia Women Rep Hon Florence Mutua among other leaders.
