Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi has today drummed up support for his reelection bid at Dam Village, Kitisuru Ward.

In a well attended rally the legislator made a passionate appeal to the residents to turn out in large numbers and vote in the August 8, 2017 polls.

The legislator also outlined his brilliant track record that majorly focused on women empowerment, youth empowerment and improvement of educational outcomes at all levels of learning within the constituency.

He further committed to expand on his empowerment programs to reach out to more Westlands residents upon his reelection.

Moreover, he called upon the masses to give Raila Odinga a golden chance to lead the country for at least five years by voting for him and adopting the polling stations to deter any irregularities. In a spirited call, he attested all the political strides Kenya has made to the Rt Hon Raila Odinga.

Finally, he expressed confidence of trouncing his competitors in the forthcoming elections to be reelected as the Westlands legislator. He promised to serve for only five more years before aiming for a higher seat.

Kangemi Primary School pupils studying in one of the refurbished classrooms courtesy of Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi. Kangemi Primary School was established in 1927. It is the only public primary school in the expansive Mountain View Ward. The school has a current enrollment of 1,846 pupils and 30 teachers. The school bore the brunt of a ballooning population of its catchment comprising of Gichagi, Rift Valley, Village Inn and St Joseph informal settlement areas.  The free primary education programme introduced in January 2003 positively contributed to an increased enrollment of pupils at the school .The high enrollment with the limited physical facilities at the school resulted in congested classrooms. The defunct city council failure to allocate resources to the school further  contributed to the sorry state of affairs with the school infrastructure being overstretched. THOUSANDS OF KIBAGARE SLUM DWELLERS IN WESTLANDS FACE POTENTIAL EVICTIONS

Aug 1st, 2016 George Kidi Kiprono Kibagare Slum Dwellers demonstrating peacefully on Aug 1, 2016 led by Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi against an illegal verbal eviction notice issued by the Nairobi School Principal. At least ten t housand Kibagare Slum dwellers  are threatened with eviction from their homes and businesses following a verbal eviction notice which sources point to the nearby Nairobi School Principal. According to the Kibagare Informal Settlement leadership, last week, the Deputy President visited Nairobi School and was notified by the school the need to set up a perimeter wall to cordon off the school land.  A day after the visit, the Kibagare leaders were summoned for a meeting with the principal of the school where he told them that a wall is supposed to be built on the disputed land which is about 4 acres. Westlands Constituency has over the years had representation in parliament starting with Fitz Remedios who ascended to power in 1963 ushering the late ECK Chairman Samuel Kivuitu in 1969, Isaac waweru 1974, Krishan chander 1979, Samuel Kivuitu 1983, Njoroge Mungai 1988, Amin Walji 1992, and Fred Ngumo who took over in a by election in 1994 to be at the helm of power for 19 years to 2013 when he resigned from active politics.
