WESTLANDS MP TIM WANYONYI TO SUPPORT PERFORMING TALENTS

Westlands lawmaker Tim Wanyonyi has pledged to facilitate the development of performing arts talent in the constituency.

He spoke on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Hospital Hill Primary School during the finals of the Westlands Rising Stars talent search, where he donated trophies and prize money to the various category winners.

The second-term MP confirmed that the Westlands NG-CDF will apportion funds to host the event again before the end of the year.

"Do not slow down, keep going and we shall provide you with the support you need. So young men and women even if you do not win here today just clap for yourself for showcasing your talent.I am here because I want to support you. I have taken my time because I want to listen, I want to learn," said Hon Wanyonyi.

"Westlands has churned out many household football names including Francis Kahata, Farouk Shikalo, Joseph Shikokoti and even Ayub Timbe, who plays in China. Such successes should inspire you to work harder.We are here to help you to discover yourself. Pursue your education but also put in extra effort in your talent.In America when they discover talent they separate them and nurture them, may be Kenya should borrow a leaf."

He pledged to support all talented artists for us long as they showcase their talents. Victor Ochieng, a spoken word artist from Githogoro slums, was for a second year running feted as the most outstanding talent.
