Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi with other leaders in Nairobi School for deliberations on Kibagare Slum

Nairobi School's plans to extend their perimeter wall around a section of Kibagare Slum will have to be put on the back burner for now. This is a result of two dialogue sessions held today. This comes rife after tremendous resistance from locals who took to the street to demonstrate on August 1st, 2016 against an illegal verbal eviction notice issued to the residents by the school on Friday, July 29, 2016.

Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi accompanied with Kangemi MCA Hon Peter Isuha, Kitisuru MCA Hon Alvin Palapala as well as a number of  Kibagare leaders held a dialogue with the school management committee of Nairobi School. In the dialogue Nairobi School denied planning any evictions of Kibagare residents from the contested 4 Acre piece of land. The school committed to engage the community in dialogue in the future in order to promote peaceful coexistence with the Kibagare people.
