Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi is slowly shaping up to be one of the most powerful figures in the Kenya Political landscape. His humble demeanor not withstanding, his visibility, likability and popularity are glowing every single day.

Despite taking over the reigns of Westlands from the outspoken Fred Gumo in 2013, he has maintained a soft spoken personality. On the contrary, he is a great communicator with his constituents whom he passionately engages on all issues.

Westlands development originates and revolves around him. All hopes, cheers,disasters and despairs are cast to him. Through his passion and compassion, he practically finds solutions to the challenges his constituents face. His landslide reelection win in the 2017 election did not come as a surprise. He earned it.

Being soft spoken, considerate and pragmatic has endeared him to the public.He is a good listener on suggestions and accepts feedback. Additionally, he expresses his ideas and directives clearly while taking their needs into consideration. 

Importantly, besides being soft spoken he has stood firm with his people on issues affecting them. For instance, he has advocated for the reclaiming of several grabbed public lands from the hands of rich tycoons. Lastly, he is a role model who leads by example. He is calm and collected while demonstrating his commitment to getting things done through his actions.

Kangemi Primary School pupils studying in one of the refurbished classrooms courtesy of Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi. Kangemi Primary School was established in 1927. It is the only public primary school in the expansive Mountain View Ward. The school has a current enrollment of 1,846 pupils and 30 teachers. The school bore the brunt of a ballooning population of its catchment comprising of Gichagi, Rift Valley, Village Inn and St Joseph informal settlement areas.  The free primary education programme introduced in January 2003 positively contributed to an increased enrollment of pupils at the school .The high enrollment with the limited physical facilities at the school resulted in congested classrooms. MP TIM WANYONYI LEADS IN HARAMBEE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW DORMITORY AT PARKLANDS ARYA GIRLS

Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi leading a fundraiser for the construction of a dormitory at Parklands Arya Girls High School on Wednesday, June 27, 2019. Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi today joined hands with students, teachers, parents and the community at Parklands Arya Girls High School for a harambee towards the construction of a dormitory for the girls that realised KES 17 Million. Architectural model of the new dormitory at Parklands Arya Girls High School to cost KES 50 Million and with a capacity of 1,200 students and 4 staff housing units During the event, the Westlands MP committed to give a supporting hand to the school to accommodate its increased enrollment through building the necessary infrastructure. THOUSANDS OF KIBAGARE SLUM DWELLERS IN WESTLANDS FACE POTENTIAL EVICTIONS

Aug 1st, 2016 George Kidi Kiprono Kibagare Slum Dwellers demonstrating peacefully on Aug 1, 2016 led by Westlands MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi against an illegal verbal eviction notice issued by the Nairobi School Principal. At least ten t housand Kibagare Slum dwellers  are threatened with eviction from their homes and businesses following a verbal eviction notice which sources point to the nearby Nairobi School Principal. According to the Kibagare Informal Settlement leadership, last week, the Deputy President visited Nairobi School and was notified by the school the need to set up a perimeter wall to cordon off the school land.  A day after the visit, the Kibagare leaders were summoned for a meeting with the principal of the school where he told them that a wall is supposed to be built on the disputed land which is about 4 acres. He was categorical that the land belongs to Nairobi School and the residents have no option but to voluntarily leave or be forcefully evicted.
