At least 17 top pupils in the 2017 KCPE examination drawn from Westlands Constituency have been awarded each with four year secondary school education free scholarship by Westlands Constituency MP Hon Tim Wanyonyi through the Tim Wanyonyi Foundation.
On Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 the MP visited four public primary schools in Westlands Constituency and gave full scholarships to the top two students (a boy and a girl) who managed to score 400+ in their KCPE.
At Aga Khan Primary, he sponsored a girl who is going to Lugulu Girls.
At Hospital Hill Primary, he sponsored 3 students. Two of whom tied in the same position. One is going to Kenya High School. Another is going to Maryhill Girls' High School. And the final one is going to Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School.
At Visa Oshwal Primary, he sponsored 3 students as well. One is going to Nairobi School. The other two are going to Moi Girls School Nairobi and Maryhill Girls' High School respectively.
Finally, at Westlands Primary School, he has sponsored 2 students. One is going to Kenya High School and the other to Nanyuki High School.
On Thursday,January 4th, 2018 Hon Tim Wanyonyi visited Lower Kabete Primary and Loresho Primary Schools within Kitisuru Ward, Westlands Constituency.
At Lower Kabete Primary School, 4 students received full scholarships.
Meanwhile at Loresho Primary School, two students received full scholarships. One is going to Kenya High School and the other to Kaberia High School.
Lastly on Friday, January 5, 2018 the Westlands legislator presented a cheque to one student at Bohra primary who is set to join Shimo La Tewa high school.
He also gave a full scholarship to one student at Old Kihumbuini primary school in Kangemi who will join St Marys Mumias Girls High School.
The program under the Member of Parliament's #MasomoBoraInitiative has served to motivate the subsequent year's candidates to work hard.
Hon Tim Wanyonyi said that he will continue supporting pupils who excel in their academics from Westlands Constituency.
He also promised to assist needy students who excelled in the KCPE examination to enable them to continue with their secondary education.
